Su \u00fanico problema en un acuario es que se hacen grandes y, como cualquier caracol de ese tama\u00f1o, pueden convertirse en &#8220;remodeladores torpes&#8221;. Todos los <em>cowries<\/em> tienen un caparaz\u00f3n ovoide, similar en forma a un bal\u00f3n de f\u00fatbol americano aplanado en la parte inferior, con una hendidura alargada que baja por el centro de la superficie inferior aplanada. Los caparazones est\u00e1n muy pulidos, y el animal a menudo extiende el manto por encima del caparaz\u00f3n.
