Agregue solo algunos caracoles a la vez; se morir\u00e1n de hambre si tienen exceso de existencias. Tienen conchas c\u00f3nicas, enrolladas que se asemejan a la parte superior de un ni\u00f1o o una pir\u00e1mide. Tienen una abertura circular; falta un canal o tubo anterior. La concha a menudo con crestas espirales, crestas radiales, protuberancias o una combinaci\u00f3n. El cuerpo puede tener un color llamativo o dr\u00e1stico, dependiendo de la especie, y se extiende fuera de la abertura circular.
